Give Hope to Your Cynical and Jaded Heart
Heartbreak is hard enough as it is. Not only do you have to face the painful music, but you’ll need to get it out of your system too. And unfortunately, the process is long and harrowing.
Getting burned by the same flame twice is even worse. You’ll be reliving heartache all over again, with some not even fully healed from their first tango.
Experiences like these make some daters cynical and jaded. Barring a miracle, hearts like these may stay that way for a long time.
Behind a Hardened Heart
Fatigue is bound to happen when one has played the dating game for a while. When this fatigue lingers longer than necessary, it may turn your heart cold.
This mindset is a result of heartbreak, burnout, and disillusionment. They believe they’re looking for love in all the wrong places. Unfortunately, one can’t choose who to fall in love with, and more often than not, ends up with heartbreak.
Because of this, it is no surprise that there are people who wince at the sight of love. They think everyone has the same agenda of breaking hearts, leaving them scared to pursue love. This leads them to believe they’re hopeless cases who won’t find someone to love them.
To these people, true love is nothing but an unattainable fantasy. If one were to follow this line of thinking, looking for it would only end up in disappointment.
O Ye of Little Faith, Don’t Be Afraid of Love
Don’t get me wrong: your feelings are valid. But at the same time, you need to pick yourself up at some point. You can only be down in the dumps for so long.
Overcoming cynicism and jadedness doesn’t happen overnight. Even accepting your feelings can be a tall order because you feel you’re being whiny and pathetic. Don’t worry, though, because here’s the thing: you’re not.
If you want love, you’ll need to embrace the good, bad, and ugly feelings that come with it. This vulnerability lets you discover and make space for possibilities you otherwise wouldn’t have seen with your pessimistic outlook.
You can’t get to the light at the end of a dark tunnel if you don’t cross it. And with that, don’t assume everyone is on a mission to hurt your feelings. Everybody gets heartbroken at some point, so you’re not alone.
Surround your heart with good vibes and steer clear of negativity. Avoid people with toxic mindsets to set you straight. If you want your cynicism to end, the last thing you should do is inhale bad vibes. Your mind and body will highly benefit from your efforts toward optimism.
Open Your Heart
Being in love means giving your cynical and jaded heart hope. This is different from looking at romance through rose-colored glasses. Acknowledge the bad and ugly, but don’t forget to enjoy the good.
Don’t look at love through a black-and-white lens. It won’t hurt to have hope for yourself! The right person may not be on your radar now, but they’ll surely come along someday.
